CASSETTE TO IPOD CONVERTER

Now check this device out.  Looks like something that could be really useful.  Imagine being able to drop all your cassettes straight into your Iphone/Ipod.  Nothing wrong with having your stuff backed up in the digital realm.  The sleek design isn't bad either.  Imagine slappin' a Strictly Cassette sticker on the front.  Gyeah!  For under a C note ($79.95) you could rip cassettes anywhere!  Here's the breakdown:

This is the device that converts audio tape cassettes into MP3 files and stores them directly onto an iPhone or iPod touch. It accepts most iPhones and iPod touches, and normal or chrome cassette tapes. With its free app, conversion to MP3 is as simple as inserting a cassette, docking an iPhone or iPod touch, and pressing play. Tapes can be listened to using the headphones jack (headphones required) or by connecting its audio output to a stereo system for scanning forward or reverse to select tracks for conversion. Cassettes can also be converted to a PC running Windows 7, XP, or Vista or a Mac using the included software. Its small footprint allows easy portability for conversion anywhere at anytime. Requires two AA batteries. 4 1/2" L x 3 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D. (8 oz.)

Now, THIS is great for those special Mix tapes we're trying to preserve. Very cool. Sadly,I only own two classic iPods and an Android cell.

    1. If this doesn't work for you, I do know that the company called ION made a USB walkman that plugs directly into your computer via USB. It has software that converts your recordings into MP3's.

This is fresh. Wonder if it will work with any ipod?

I guess after converting a whole cassette album, would the user end up with 2 MP3's (side A & side B)?
or does the device turn each track on the cassette into individual MP3 songs?

I can imagine it being similar to other analog converters. The software allows you to place markers on the audio. This gives the ability to export individual parts. Im just hoping the app that works with it can do the same thing.
